Project - Remuera Cabana
Architects McKinney + Windeatt specified the use of TCS II Satin on the Remuera pool side Cabana for it’s subtle clean looks, and ability to naturally weather to the desired tone. TCS II Satin achieved the desired monolithic look without drawing too much attention to the soldered joins. Both the material and soldered joins will weather in unison. “The weathering started almost overnight”, was the observation made during the installation period. TCS II Satin provided a complete roofing and spouting solution, creating uniformity for the poolside project. The Remuera location in Auckland, has a North East aspect, facing Rangitoto Island and the Auckland Harbour entrance.

Installer - The roof design required all ridge and hip seam details to join, a "Prickle ridge". This enables the tray seams on both the ridge and hips to join with an uninterrupted visual appearance. This detail, a less likely option with coated products, was made possible by TCS II Satin’s solderability. Rado Botev from BulTrade Ltd who has a wealth of experience crafting Architectural metals, says that working with Ambro Metals Ltd to ensure the true potential of Follansbee’s Terne Coated Stainless Steel has resulted in an abundance of possibilities.

“The material is extremely easy to work with !. The malleability ensures tight seams and the surface has no added coatings to contend with. It solders perfectly, we had a lot of soldering to do on this job. That was important. I really think this is going to be an excellent choice for New Zealand’s conditions, it makes a lot of sense in so many different ways.”

Continuous Spouting New Zealand Ltd manufactured and installed the 1/2 round profile rainwater system which was selected to match the surrounding property. Their professionalism ensured a successful result for their first TCS II Satin assignment.
